Brain Awareness Week 2015

Just a quick post to say that this week (16-22 March) is Brain Awareness Week! This is a week that aims to draw attention to ongoing and previous research in the field of neuroscience, with loads of events on for anyone who's interested.

Brain Awareness Week (or BAW) takes place all over the world, and loads of exhibitions, lectures and open days go on over the week! Click here to go to the official website, where you can find out more information relating to your area.

BAW is run by the Dana Foundation and the Society for Neuroscience in the US. However, different areas across the globe have their own societies/groups that run each event.

For example, in London this week there is an art exhibition exploring the brain at the UCL Institute of Neurology (more here) and a talk on the effects of recreational drugs on the brain at the University of Roehampton (more here), amongst many others!

  2. I find neuroscience fascinating but never got into it at uni, I am a dermatologist by trade! I had no idea it was brain awareness week, I'll be sure to be on the look out for activities near me :)
